I have always wanted to be able to implement my experiences working in a plumbing project.  And plumbing project came.  Mucone Irrigation System, maintenance and expansion.

 The Mucone irrigation system was built to use the water resources of the Sila plateau.  The project was resumed in 1950. The works involved the Mucone river, a tributary of the Crati, which rises north from Cosenza, following the border of the Sila massif to flow into the Sibari plain and from here into the Ionian Sea.  The intake of the plant is located on the Mucone river, and the water is distributed to the irrigation basins on the right and left of the Mucone.  It has a free surface channel of 3.7 km and over 85 km of supply pipes of various diameters starting from 1800 mm and gradually smaller.  It is located in the municipalities of Bisignano, Luzzi, Tarsia, Santa Sofia D'Epiro, Torano Scalo and Mongrassano. The plant was started in 1970 and has a total capacity of 300,000 cubic metres.  The operating hours of the system are 24 hours a day.
